Organizational and Personnel Changes
Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective April 1, 2024.
1. Organizational Changes
(1) Corporate Planning & Development Domain
- Aim

- To establish a system to quickly identify changes in the external environment that affect the cost of automobiles and to utilize this information promptly and accurately in product profit planning.
- Description of changes
-
- Cost Planning & Promotion Dept. will be eliminated, and its functions will be integrated with and reorganized in Program Finance Planning Department.
(2) Powertrain Development Domain
- Aim
-
- To establish an organizational structure for electric drive system development in order to systematically introduce electric drive products in line with the electrification phases under the 2030 Management Policy.
- Description of change

- Electric Drive & PT Control Parts Development Department will be renamed Electric Drive System Development Department, and some functions of Powertrain Technology Development Department and Drivetrain Development Department will be consolidated and reorganized. In addition, some functions of Electric Drive & PT Control Parts Development Department will be transferred to PT Control System Development Department.
(3) Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Domain

- To establish a system to provide integrated support to our suppliers for quality and productivity improvement in order to achieve "cost reduction and robust supply chain," which is a key initiative of the 2030 Management Policy. We will also strengthen our quality assurance and quality improvement systems to respond to our customers' high quality expectations, diversified needs, and increasingly sophisticated vehicle structures such as electrification and SDVs.
- Description of change

- EV Production Engineering Department will be newly established in Production Engineering Division.
- MPS Division will be newly established to integrate the functions of MPS Promotion Department, human resource development in Hiroshima Plant and Hofu Plant, as well as purchased parts quality control of Quality Engineering Department/Quality Engineering Department (Hofu) in Quality Division.
- Production Research Department, MPS HR Development Department, Hiroshima Purchased Parts Management Department, and Hofu Purchased Parts Management Department, will be newly established in MPS Division.
- Some functions of Quality Engineering Department/Quality Engineering Department (Hofu) will be transferred to Hiroshima Plant/Hofu Plant, thus eliminating both departments.
- Some functions of Quality Assurance Department will be transferred to Field Quality Department in Quality Division in order to reorganize and integrate them with newly established Field Quality Dept. No.1 and Field Quality Dept. No.2, thus eliminating Field Quality Department.
- Transfer the functions related to quality assurance of finished vehicles at Hiroshima Plant and Hofu Plant to and integrate with the newly established Hiroshima Inspection Department and Hofu Inspection Department in Quality Division.
(4) Human Resources Domain
- Aim

- To promote the development of an organizational culture in which diverse human resources can play an active role with full of vitality in response to the changing business structure of the automotive industry, while maximizing the competence and growth of employees and strengthening the system to support the frontlines.
- Description of change

- Cultural Transformation Promotion Department will be newly established, and some functions of People Development Department and HR Services Department will be transferred to and reorganized in the new department.
- HR Reform Department will be newly established, and some functions of People Development Department and HR Services Department will be transferred to and reorganized in the new department.
- HR Partner Department will be newly established, and some functions of HR Planning & Labor Relations Department, People Development Department, and HR Services Department will be transferred to and reorganized in the new department.
- In accordance with the above, HR Planning & Labor Relations Department, People Development Department, and HR Services Department., will be eliminated.
