Permanent “Pride of Hiroshima Exhibition” Themes Announced
The Pride of Hiroshima Permanent Exhibition Executive Committee has determined the contents of exhibits and launched the official website of the Pride of Hiroshima Exhibition, which will open to the public at Shimint Hiroshima located in Hiroshima Gate Park on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
The concept of this exhibition is "providing people from around the world the opportunity to experience the path to recovery traveled by the people of Hiroshima, the resplendent sight of Hiroshima today, and their dreams for the future." The exhibition is arranged in six themes that present the path on which the people of Hiroshima have traveled up to the present day to uplift Hiroshima as a city of peace and the efforts they have made to realize a prosperous future. Video displays, a core feature showing compilations of valuable documents and other materials that local companies have preserved, enable visitors to experience the story of Hiroshima's recovery.
Executive Committee Chairman Koji Ikeda commented, "This permanent exhibition has been realized thanks to the support of so many who voiced their hope that the Pride of Hiroshima Exhibition become a permanent installation. There is no greater joy than seeing visitors captivated by and share in the pride of what Hiroshima has accomplished. I hope this exhibition serves as a cue prompting subsequent generations to carry on the 'Pride of Hiroshima' anew."
