Mazda Production and Sales Results for March 2016 and for April 2015 through March 2016 (Flash Report)
Mazda Motor Corporation's production and sales results for March 2016 and for April 2015 through March 2016 are summarized below.
I. Production
Note 1): Overseas production figures are based on Mazda brand units coming off the production line (does not include CKD units), but include passenger vehicles produced for another brand at the plant in Mexico. Note 2): Global production figures are the sum total of domestic and overseas production volumes.
1. Domestic Production (1) March 2016 Mazda's total production volume in March 2016 increased 3.2% compared to March 2015 due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

(2) April 2015 through March 2016 Mazda's domestic production volume in the period from April 2015 through March 2016 increased 7.6% year-on-year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

2. Overseas Production (1) March 2016 Mazda's overseas production volume in March 2016 increased 16.1% compared to March 2015, reflecting increased production of passenger vehicles.

(2) April 2015 through March 2016 Mazda's total overseas production volume in the period from April 2015 through March 2016 increased 27.7% year-on-year, due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

II. Domestic sales
(1) March 2016 Mazda's total domestic sales volume in March 2016 decreased 23.6% compared to March 2015 due to decreased sales of both passenger and commercial vehicles. Mazda's registered vehicle market share was 5.2% (down 1.4 points year-on-year), with a 2.2% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.4 points year-on-year) and a 4.1 % total market share (down 0.9 points year-on-year).

(2) April 2015 through March 2016 Mazda's total domestic sales volume in the period from April 2015 through March 2016 increased 3.5% year-on-year, due to increased sales of passenger vehicles. Mazda's registered vehicle market share was 6.1% (up 0.6 points year-on-year), with a 2.3% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.1 points year-on-year) and a 4.7% total market share (up 0.5 points year-on-year).

III. Exports
(1) March 2016 Mazda's export volume in March 2016 decreased 2.8% compared to March 2015 due to decreased shipments to Europe, Oceania and other regions.
