Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for August 2009 are summarized below.

1. Domestic Production
Mazda’s domestic production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in August 2009 decreased 23.9% compared to August 2008.

Mazda3 (Axela):	24,914 units	(down 8.4% year-on-year)
Mazda2 (Demio):	11,837 units	(down 18.7% year-on-year)

2. Overseas Production
Posting a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month, Mazda’s overseas production volume in August 2009 improved 27.4% on August 2008, reflecting healthy production of passenger vehicles.

Mazda’s total domestic sales volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in August 2009 decreased 3.4% compared to August 2008.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.8% (down 0.4 points year-on-year), with a 3.6% share of the micro-mini segment (unchanged from last year) and a 5.7% total market share (down 0.1 points year-on-year).
