Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for May 2009 are summarized below.

1. Domestic Production
Due to a reduction in global demand, Mazda’s domestic production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in May 2009 decreased 42.9% compared to May 2008.

Mazda2 (Demio):	11,414 units	(down 29.1% year-on-year)

2. Overseas Production
Mazda’s overseas production volume in May 2009 decreased 8.2% compared to May 2008 due to reduced production of commercial vehicles, despite increased production of passenger vehicles.

Amid diminished overall market demand, Mazda’s total domestic sales volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in May 2009 decreased 32.9% compared to May 2008.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.2% (down 1.2 points year-on-year), with a 2.9% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.5 points year-on-year) and a 4.3% total market share (down 0.9 points year-on-year).
