Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for March 2009 and fiscal year (FY) 2008 are summarized below.

1. Domestic Production
(1) March 2009
Due to a reduction in global demand, Mazda’s domestic production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in March 2009 decreased 57.2% compared to March 2008.

Mazda2 (Demio):	8,904 units	(down 48.4% year-on-year)

(2) FY2008
Due to a reduction in global demand during the second half of the fiscal year, Mazda’s domestic production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in FY2008 decreased 14.1% compared to FY2007.

2. Overseas Production
(1) March 2009
Due to a reduction in global demand, Mazda’s overseas production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in March 2009 decreased 45.8% compared to March 2008.

(2) FY2008
Due to a reduction in global demand during the second half of the fiscal year, Mazda’s overseas production volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in FY2008 decreased 15.7% compared to FY2007.

Amid diminished overall market demand, Mazda’s total domestic sales volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in March 2009 decreased 31.8% compared to March 2008.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.3% (down 0.4 points year-on-year), with a 2.9% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.1 points year-on-year) and a 4.3% total market share (down 0.4 points year-on-year).

AZ-Wagon:	3,585 units	(down 18.7% year-on-year)

(2) FY2008
Amid diminished overall market demand, Mazda’s total domestic sales volume of passenger and commercial vehicles in FY2008 decreased 14.5% compared to FY2007.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.7% (down 0.1 points year-on-year), with a 3.0% share of the micro-mini segment (unchanged year-on-year) and a 4.6% total market share (down 0.2 points year-on-year).
