II. Domestic sales
Despite strong sales of the all-new Mazda2/Demio, domestic sales were below the same period last year, down 6.3%, mainly due to a decrease in commercial vehicle sales. Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.2%, down 0.4 points over August 2006, with a 3.3% percent share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.1 points) and a 5.2% total market share, which is down 0.2 points over last year’s result.

III. Exports
Due to steady global sales of Mazda3 and an increase in all-new Mazda2 exports to Europe, August 2007 exports were up 20.9% year-on-year. On a market basis, exports to Europe were particularly healthy at 21,460 units, a 42.6% year-on-year increase, mainly due to the addition of Mazda2 exports and increased exports of Mazda3 thanks to steady sales.
