Mazda Production and Sales Results for July 2007 (Flash Report)

Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for July 2007 are summarized below.

I. Production

Note: As of January 2007, overseas production figures are based on Mazda brand units coming off the production line (does not include CKD kits).

1. Domestic Production
Although Mazda increased production of the fully redesigned Mazda2/Demio and saw added production of the CX-9, the overall domestic production volume for July 2007 was down 4.0% compared with July 2006. This was mainly due to the suspension of production caused by the Chuetsu Oki earthquake in Niigata prefecture.

Mazda2:	9,766 units (up 43.5% year-on-year)
CX-9:	5,094 units

2. Overseas production
Overseas production of the Mazda3 saw an increase. However, total overseas production in July 2007 was down 23.3% year-on-year, mainly due to the end of second generation Mazda2 production at the Valencia plant.

4,966 units (up 626.0% year-on-year)

II. Domestic sales

Sales of passenger vehicles increased year-on-year due to strong sales of the all-new Mazda2. Total domestic sales were below the same period last year, down 3.7% over July 2006, mainly due to a decrease in commercial vehicle sales. Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.1%, up 0.3 points over July 2006, with a 2.7% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.3 points) and a 4.9% total market share, up 0.3 points over the same month last year.

Mazda2:	7,073 units (up 36.6% year-on-year)
Verisa:	1,035 units (up 7.0% year-on-year)

III. Exports

Despite an increase in exports of the all-new Mazda2 to Europe and CX-9 exports, July 2007 exports were down 10.3% on July 2006. This was as a result of reduced Mazda6 and Mazda5 exports.
On a market basis, exports to Europe were healthy, reaching 25,662 units (up 13.9%) mainly due to added Mazda2 and CX-7 exports.
