II. Domestic sales
The domestic sales volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 8.4% compared to January 2006. Sales volumes of the Mazda2 and commercial vehicles were lower than the same month last year, but sales of the Mazda5 and Mazda3 were brisk and exceeded last year’s results.

Exports have exceeded the figures for the same month of the previous year for 18 consecutive months since August 2005, with an increase of 32.1% year-on-year. The gains were led by the added production of CX-7 and CX-9 models and increased production of the Mazda3. Exports were at their highest level in 14 years in January 2007. On a market basis, export of CX-7 and CX-9 models bound for North America, and Mazda3 and Mazda5s for Europe, were particularly healthy.
