Mazda Atenza/Mazda6 ('Sport' Japanese-specification model)
Mazda Motor Corporation's award-winning, mid-size Atenza (known as
the Mazda6 in overseas markets) continues to gain worldwide recognition
for its superb handling, functionality and distinctive styling. In the
one-year period since its domestic launch in May 2002, the Atenza has
been honored with a total of fifty awards in twenty-two countries and
regions around the world, making it one of the most successful new-cars
in Mazda's 82-year history.
During the first six months following its launch, the Atenza received
twenty-three awards, both at home and abroad, including the prestigious
"2003 RJC Car of the Year" in November 2002. Since then the
Atenza has further strengthened its excellent reputation winning an
additional twenty-seven prizes around the globe.

The Atenza continues to record strong sales both in the domestic Japanese
market and overseas markets. In Japan, cumulative registrations from the
vehicle's launch on May 20, 2002 through the end of April 2003 reached
30,973 units. Moreover, cumulative overseas exports from March 2002 through
the end of April 2003 stand at 138,019 units.
