Enhanced Mazda Premacy Delivers Greater Rear Seat Flexibility
- And Green Tax Benefits -
| Mazda Motor Corporation today announced the introduction of the enhanced
Premacy featuring an easy-to-use, stowable seat in the third row, G-LEV
classification and other major improvements. The enhanced Premacy goes
on sale today at Mazda, Mazda Anfini, and Mazda Autozam dealerships throughout
Japan. |
Premacy SPORT 2000 DOHC FWD |
The Mazda Premacy provides spacious interior within a compact body and accommodates three rows of seats for up to seven passengers. With its flexible seat arrangements and high functionality, the Mazda Premacy is particularly popular with young families.
Mazda has made the following changes to deliver the Mazda spirit known
as "Zoom-Zoom" into the Mazda Premacy and to further fulfill
the expectations of customers:

An easy-to-use, flat-fold stowable seat is introduced in the third row to enhance functionality. |

Mazda engineers have enhanced the performance of the 1800 DOHC (FWD) engine
and it is qualified under Green Taxation regulations.* |

The features of 1800 DOHC G-Sports Package and 2000 DOHC SPORT are upgraded, while the 2000 DOHC model now has an additional luxury L grade. |

The popular exterior colors "Starry Blue" and "Classic Red" are now
available on a wider range of models. The interior for the 1800 DOHC G
models has two color options (previously only one). |

An extended range of maker options is available such as discharge headlamps
and rear view monitor. |
The monthly sales target of the Premacy is 1,800 units.

Green Taxation
Newly registered
vehicles up to March 31, 2003 are eligible for special Tax Reductions
in the Automobile Acquirement Tax (A reduction of 15,000 yen for
private vehicles) and the Automobile Tax (G-LEV is eligible for
a 13% tax break for two years, starting from the fiscal year after
the purchase of the vehicle.)

Major changes to the new Premacy are as follows:

Introduction of an easy-to-use, fold-flat stowable
seat in the third row |

An easy-to-use, fold-flat stowable third-row seat is now available and
adds further flexibility (previously the detachable type). Being connected
to the backrest through the use of a belt, the seat can be easily stowed
away or restored, while ensuring comfortable, firm seating quality. |

Qualification under the Green Taxation plan

The FWD 1800 DOHC engine powered models, with their significantly improved
fuel economy from 11.8km/L to 13.0km/L delivered by enhanced engine characteristics,
are eligible for a tax break under the Green Taxation plan. |

Feature improvements on the 2000 DOHC model |

The popular 2000 DOHC SPORT comes with discharge headlamps, 17-inch tyres, aluminium wheels, and a genuine leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel as standard equipment. With specially tuned suspension, the 2000 DOHC SPORT offers sportier driving performance. |

The luxury L model has been added to the 2000 DOHC engine model. The interior
in beige combined with simulated-wood patterns creates a bright high-quality
interior space which has a sense of calmness. |

Sportier image of the 1800 DOHC G-Sports Package

The 1800 DOHC G-Sports Package model is equipped with the same white instrument
panel meter, front fog lamps, and urethane three-spoke steering wheel,
as the 2000 DOHC SPORT model. Its interior also features the same seat
fabric in black as the 2000 DOHC SPORT, to strengthen its sporty image. |

More exterior and interior colors available

"Starry Blue," a body color with a sporty
image that used to be available on the 2000 DOHC SPORT model only,
is now available for all models except the C grade 1800 DOHC, and
"Classic Red," which is popular with women, is now offered
for all models. To increase color options further still, "Titanium
Grey" has been introduced as an exclusive color for the 2000
DOHC SPORT model. |

For the 1800 DOHC G models, a beige-colored interior, with a bright image,
has been introduced in addition to the gray interior. For the 1800 DOHC
G-Sports Package models, the same fabric and black interior as the 2000DOHC
SPORT are used. |

An extended range of maker options available |

The rear view monitor (as a set with the DVD navigation
system) is available as an option on all models except the C grade. |

The discharge headlamps are available as an option for the G, G-Sports
Package and L models (for the 2000 DOHC SPORT, they are standard equipment).
The headlamp leveling system is also available. |

Water-repellent glass for the windscreen to improve forward visibility on rainy days (as a set with side air bags) is offered as a maker option for the G, G-Sports Package, and SPORT. |
