Mazda Motor Corporation has released a new
micro mini vehicle "Spiano."* Featuring the rounded-edge-design exterior
with an interior packed with comfort and
utility, "Spiano" goes on sale
today at Mazda Autozam dealerships throughout
Japan. This is the sixth micro-mini vehicle
offered by Autozam.
"Spiano" features a distinctive
exterior design expressing warmth and functionality
based on rectangular line with rounded edges,
and unique, classical and amiable interior
design. "Spiano" is a new concept
micro-mini vehicle, offering "a homely
feel and comfort as if you are in your own
room."
"Spiano" is an easy-to-drive micro-mini vehicle. While fitting into most tower parking stations, it offers a roomy interior. An open and comfortable interior environment is provided through the upright window and pillar. Targeting mainly youthful and sophisticated women, "Spiano" offers nine body colors and a warm design flows through the interior, with theme borrowed from the home interior. "Spiano" also has easy-to-use sufficient storage space. In addition, through reinforced body rigidity and optimal use of noise absorption materials, quiet operation, ride comfort and functionality have been enhanced.
The monthly sales target is 650 units.
*"Spiano," means "a spacious
place" in Italian.

Full range fitted with SRS airbags for driver and passenger seats, load-limitter for front seats, and seat belts with pretensioner for front seats. |

A shoulder adjuster is fitted for front seat belts, in accordance with the size and build of the driver. |
| 8. Engine with care for the environment |

All models employ a K6A 3-cylinder DOHC VVT all aluminum engine. With Variable Valve Timing (VVT), fuel economy has been improved. |

All models are E-LEV compatible, with FF
version clearing Japan's 2010 fuel-efficiency
standards and meeting Green Taxation Plan,
which entitles a 9,000 yen reduction in automobile
acquisition tax.

All models employ an electric-controlled 4AT transmission that delivers smooth driving. In addition, a combination with a control system for ascending/descending slopes prevents unnecessary transmission, offering higher fuel economy and more comfortable driving. |
